FAQ

Getting started

What is QuizTalent all about?

True to the motto "One for all, all for one!" (Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno), QuizTalent™ invites players from around the world to prove that human judgment can outsmart AI. Play live trivia against real people and real AI models — for free — and learn when to trust the machine and when to trust yourself. Build your team, test your knowledge, and see for yourself: Sapere aude — dare to know!

Is QuizTalent free to play? What are Gems?

Yes — you can always play. Gems are QuizTalent's in-app currency: entering a rated quiz match costs 10 Gems, and you receive free Gems when you join. Gems never buy you answers or rankings — see "Can I pay to win?" below.

Can I pay to win?

No. Nothing you can buy changes how many questions you answer correctly. Your Solve Rate — the measure of your knowledge — is always the raw truth. Tactical features affect match points only, never your knowledge record.

When does my trial expire?

If you are a registered Trial User, your trial expires in 30 days and all progress will be lost.

Why should I add a profile picture?

Your profile picture (PFP) serves as your digital avatar on your NFTs, making your player icon stand out on your seats. You can update this pic anytime to match your style with your socials.

How can I keep track of my progress?

Once you're in, you'll unlock access to your stats, rankings, ratings, and leagues. Later, you can also mint your profile as an NFT and build a tokenized team — see the Marketplace section below.

Playing the quiz — 6 questions, 1 match

How long is a quiz match?

Six questions. One match. Every match runs through six rounds — each with its own twist, listed below — and takes just a few minutes. Jump in anytime; there's always a match starting.

What happens in a Standard Round?

This is the default quiz round. Answer correctly and earn regular points. No penalties for wrong answers.

How is the Booster Round different?

Correct answers earn double points. It's a great chance to boost your score quickly.

What's the Super Booster Round?

It gives you triple points for the correct answer — a high-reward round.

What's special about the Sniper Round?

You earn triple points for a correct answer given within the first second.

What happens in the Predator Round?

The fastest correct players steal points from slower ones.

What's at stake in the High-Risk Round?

A wrong answer takes away your last earned points — not your entire score. Answer carefully.

Do harder questions earn more points?

Yes. Tougher questions add bonus points to your score, so taking on hard topics pays off.

Your AI opponents

Who are the AI opponents?

When you play, you'll usually face two kinds of AI opponents: an AI Bot powered by a real AI model — Llama and a range of other leading models take turns — that genuinely tries to answer every question, and WildGuess (labeled "Blind Bot"), which picks answers at random. The name on the AI Bot's seat tells you which model you're up against. They keep the arena live around the clock, so there's always a match to join.

Do AI opponents know the correct answers?

The AI Bot really attempts every question with a language model — sometimes it's brilliant, sometimes it's confidently wrong. That's the game: can your judgment beat the machine? WildGuess, on the other hand, truly just guesses.

Why do AI opponents play with me?

To keep the game active 24/7 so you can always find a match — and to give you a live benchmark: every game shows how your knowledge compares to AI.

Can AI opponents win the Trivia Cup?

No. AI opponents may win individual quiz matches, but they cannot win the Trivia Cup, don't occupy places on the human leaderboards, and don't count toward official rankings. Human and AI results are always kept separate.

Can I mint or purchase an NFT of an AI opponent?

No, AI opponents are not available as NFTs.

Duels

What are Duels?

A Duel is a direct challenge: play a match, then send your challenge link to a friend — or accept someone else's. The challenger sets the score to beat; accepting a duel costs 10 Gems; whoever scores higher wins.

What is the "Final answer?" lock?

On a duel's final question, answering takes two taps: your first tap arms "Final answer?", your second tap locks it in as a confident bet — worth +20% on your score if you're right, −20% if you're wrong. Knowledge isn't affected; only match points are at stake.

Ophi — the daily run

What does Ophi stand for?

Ophi is short for ophidiophobia, the fear of snakes. It is QuizTalent's daily run: six questions, one run a day, the same six for everyone.

Picture a corridor with six gates and daylight at the end. A snake is on your trail. Every right answer opens a gate and puts a step between you and the snake. Every wrong answer lets it gain a step. Get it wrong too often and it swallows you, which costs nothing but pride: your card takes a cosmetic bite, never a loss.

You are not alone. An AI Bot runs the corridor with you and, on some gates, tells you what it would answer. Sometimes it is right and opens the gate for you. Sometimes it is confidently wrong and leads you straight into the snake's jaws. The best players are not the ones who always trust it, and not the ones who never do. They are the ones who learn when it is right.

Playing anywhere in QuizTalent keeps your daily flame alive. Only a missed day breaks it. Getting swallowed does not.

Can I share my run without spoiling it?

Yes. "Copy Results" copies a small card of symbols: your day number, how many gates you got right, your flame day, and one square per gate. Green is a right answer, red a wrong one, and a snake marks the gate where it caught you. The card never contains question or answer text, so anyone who has not played yet sees nothing they could use. Your score stays yours: it never travels with the card.

Trivia Cup, TQ & rankings

How long does the Trivia Cup last?

The Trivia Cup lasts for 24 hours. You can participate at any time during this period.

How to win the Trivia Cup?

To win the Trivia Cup, play well, stay active, and team up with other skilled players.

How is the winner of the Trivia Cup determined?

The Trivia Cup now crowns two winners from the same event:

Singles Cup: won by the player with the highest Cup TQ — your average match score during the cup. Any player can win it; no team is needed.

Teams Cup: won by the team with the highest Team TQ (your members' TQs combined and weighted by their league merit). This is a recognition award for the strongest squad.

Ties are broken in order by fewest games played (efficiency), then highest lifetime score, then longest community membership.

What happens if there is a standoff even after applying all criteria?

Due to the tiered rules, only one player can win the Trivia Cup; standoffs are virtually impossible.

What does TQ mean?

TQ stands for Talent Quotient: the average of your match scores in rated games, a measure of how well you WIN (score, speed and tactics; it can go above 100 when boosters pay off). Your card and profile show your lifetime average; the leaderboards show the last 30 days. Every rated match counts, Arena, Trivia Cup and Duels alike; Ophi runs, practice games and matches you join late do not. Guests earn TQ from their first rated match and keep it when they sign up. It is shown with two decimals, like TQ 62.50.

What is the difference between TQ and Solve Rate?

TQ measures how well you WIN — it rewards score, speed, and smart tactics. Solve Rate measures what you KNOW — the plain percentage of questions you answer correctly, untouched by any tactic or purchase. Both matter, and they are never mixed: TQ crowns champions, Solve Rate tells the truth about knowledge.

What do Player TQ, Last TQ, Match TQ, Team TQ, and Cup TQ mean?

Player TQ measures how well you play — your average match score. It can go above 100 when boosters pay off, and is shown on your NFT (lifetime) and on the leaderboard (last 30 days).

Last TQ is your score in your most recent quiz match.

Quizzes indicate the number of trivia games you have played in a Live Trivia Cup.

Match TQ is your average match score across the games you have played.

Team TQ combines your team members' TQs, weighted by their league merit. It decides the Teams Cup.

Cup TQ is your average match score during the current Trivia Cup. It decides the Singles Cup, which any player can win — no team needed. (The Trivia Cup now crowns two winners from the same event: a Singles champion and a Teams champion.)

What are Leagues?

Leagues turn scores into levels that represent special achievements, which show up as badges to honor the player. Leagues celebrate your progression climbing up the skill ladder, namely: Team Player, Buzzer, Playmaker, Expert, Captain, Coach, Mastermind, Wonder Whale, Eternal, and Quizmaster.

Aids, tactics & fair play

What happened to Jokers?

Jokers — the paid lifelines that revealed the correct answer — are being retired. Buying answers doesn't fit QuizTalent's fair-play promise: nothing you purchase should ever change what you demonstrably know. In their place, Shields are coming (see below).

What are Shields?

Shields are QuizTalent's upcoming tactical layer: a defensive, one-tap choice you make after answering — protecting your points rather than buying answers. Shields affect match points only; your Solve Rate always stays the raw truth. Coming to the arena soon.

NFT & Marketplace

How can I turn my profile into a player NFT?

Your profile can become an NFT through minting, giving you the opportunity to market your player profile and earn royalties. Playing well and staying visible helps other players notice you. Other players can purchase your NFT seats to strengthen their team.

Why should I sign up for a self-custody wallet?

Once you're in, you'll unlock access to your free Privy wallet. Embedded within a Decentralized Application (DApp), your secure crypto wallet can be exported anytime, giving you full control to host it yourself. After onboarding, use your self-custody wallet address to mint your NFT—turning your profile into an onchain collectible. This allows you to build your own tokenized team while earning royalties from your player seats.

What is the cost of minting my NFTs?

You can mint your initial NFT for 1.00 USDC. Additionally, you have the option to mint a pack of five of your own seats for 5.00 USDC. After minting a 5-pack, you may mint more seats at any time for 1.00 USDC each, in proportion to your preset total supply. The lower your total supply, the more seats you are eligible to mint at the discounted rate of 1.00 USDC.

Can I change the Total Supply?

Select the total supply for your NFT collection. This can only be set once and cannot be changed later.

How to set the right supply?

If you're a single player just starting out, use the minimum supply for your own individual team. But if you're a professional quizzer competing primarily with other skilled players, you may want to offer more seats than a casual player who enjoys trivia just for fun with friends and family. As a rule of thumb, set your total supply based on the number of people you can actively engage within your social circle. This helps ensure your supply matches your reach, maintaining the scarcity of your NFTs. When in doubt, it's always better to keep your seats rare.

When should I set a higher supply?

If you're an influencer looking to offer seats to your followers, consider setting a higher supply.

If you're a network aiming to offer seats to your audience, you might want to set a larger supply.

Setting a maximum supply makes sense if you're famous and selling seats as merchandise to your fans.

What is the impact of supply and scarcity on the pricing of my NFTs?

The lower your total supply, the scarcer your NFTs become, and the higher the price—but fewer teams will be able to purchase you as a player. The higher your total supply, the less scarce your NFTs become, the lower the price, and the more teams will be able to purchase your player seat.

How is the price of my NFT determined?

Prices are set by supply and demand through the auction market's VRGDA mechanism (see below). Being active and visible in the game helps your seat get noticed by potential team owners.

How to build and manage a team?

You can build your own team with up to six of your own seats. However, this lineup is just a quick way to form a team—it is not required to compete in the Trivia Cup. You can also mint or purchase other players' seats to build a multi-skilled team onchain. In your active lineup, you can mix your own seats with up to five other player seats. Regardless, as the team owner, you will always be set as the leading team player in every quiz, meaning your performance and strategy directly impact your team's success.

What is my Team Lineup good for?

Your team lineup decides the Teams Cup — a separate cup from the individual Singles Cup. Each member's TQ (their average match score, weighted by their league merit) is combined into your Team TQ. Player TQ is shown on each NFT (lifetime) and can go above 100 when boosters pay off.

Who shows up on my Team Bench?

Player seats that you have minted or purchased will show up on your team bench. You can choose which seat to use in your lineup for playing in the Trivia Cup. Choose your team members wisely.

Why should I substitute players in my team?

Keep in mind that you can tactically sub players in and out of your active lineup at any time, allowing you to optimize your team's performance in the Trivia Cup. This feature gives you the flexibility to bench weaker players and bring in players with stronger gameplay whenever needed.

What is the advantage of the Transfer Market?

Beyond managing your lineup, the open transfer market allows you to trade players, giving you the opportunity to buy or sell seats and earn royalties. You can list your seats as a limited-time offer at a price of your choice. Once all your seats are minted—either by yourself or through the auction market—you can continue trading both your own and other players' seats in the open transfer market to strengthen your team lineup and increase your chances of winning.

How does the Transfer Market work?

The open transfer market highlights seats listed as limited-time offers at a chosen price. This feature enables players to trade, offering opportunities to buy or sell seats and earn royalties. Once all seats are minted—either by their creators or through the auction market—players can continue trading their own and others' seats in the open transfer market to strengthen their team lineup and improve their chances of winning.

What is the advantage of the Auction Market?

If you do not use limited-time offers in the open transfer market to sell seats you have minted or purchased, the price will automatically be set at a dynamic rate through the auction market, with the smart contract ensuring royalty generation.

How does the Auction Market work?

Minting prices in the auction market are determined by a Variable Rate Gradual Dutch Auction (VRGDA). This model uses a real-time pricing mechanism that dynamically adjusts the price of digital goods to maintain a sustainable schedule.

If NFTs sell too quickly, prices increase to slow sales.

If NFTs sell too slowly, prices decrease to encourage purchases. The VRGDA model promotes market stability and ensures the fair distribution of NFT player seats by preventing large price fluctuations and balancing supply with demand. This allows the in-game collectibles to be sold at a steady, optimal rate over time, while the smart contract guarantees royalty generation.

How does the VRGDA pricing mechanism work?

The Variable Rate Gradual Dutch Auction (VRGDA) automatically balances price against demand over time, giving every player's seats a fair, stable market.

Why can't I buy Rookies?

Rookies are trial users who have signed up but have not yet minted an NFT. Estimated prices indicate the potential value of their player seat if minted through the auction market.

What is the difference between Clicker Airdrop Points and Royalty Airdrop Points?

Clicker Airdrop Points reflect your gameplay performance, while Royalty Airdrop Points are based on your royalties earned. Airdrop Points will support future use cases within the decentralized ecosystem.

How can I become an Editor and earn rewards?

Every player can contribute questions: submit your own quiz questions with multiple-choice answers directly in the app, and our editorial process ensures only top-tier content is featured in the games. A tool for flagging errors in questions and answers directly in-game is coming soon. Until then, if you've spotted a possible mistake, send a note via the contact page and our editorial team will review it.
